The project implemented at various levels i.e. communities, district and provincial level with strong involvement of multiple stakeholders including Disaster Management Authorities (PDMA and DDMA), civil society, DRR Forum and community members as well as IDPs and Afghan Refugees (if residing in the targeted zone). The ownership and participation of all the stakeholders ensured throughout the project cycle with DDMA as lead for the processes of CBDP. The project support DDMA to develop district level DRM plan by involving multiple stakeholders through advocacy, technical facilitation and institutional strengthening. The support include capacity building of DDMA, government line departments and civil society actors especially of DRR Forum members. 

Objectives:

To consolidate and formalize community-based disaster preparedness approaches in partnership with relevant district institutions in Nowshera district, KPK

Outcomes:

Local people including vulnerable groups in disaster-prone areas are organized for DRR in formalized structures with adequate CBDP plans, tools and systems

Improved disaster preparedness and response mechanism through capacity building, networking and advocacy for effective humanitarian governance, coordination, networking, quality, training and learning
